My First Ride through the Bison Range

I have heard about the wonders of the Bison Range for years now and have never had the priveledge of going myself.  This weekend my Inlaws came to visit for my husband's graduation at the University of Montana and we decided to go for an adventure to Polson and take a side trip through the Bison Range.

We were not disappointed!  The views, the sounds and the animals really give you that Montana experience you crave for when you visit Big Sky Country. We wanted to stop in the visitor center but unfortunately it is closed.  Next time I go through I would make a point of going early enough to go through there. But even if you don't get to go through the visitor center you can pull some guides from the informational Kiosk which provides a wealth of information on animal identification and habitats.  Be sure to pay your $5.00 to the "Iron Ranger" and then set off!

The first animal encounter was Bison.

We accidentally ended up in the middle of herd of Bison on our drive.  Talk about scary.  These guys are HUGE up close.

We saw some Mule Deer as well keeping cool in the shade!

It was such a blast to hang with my family and take in all that Montana has to offer.  It was beyond relaxing, I would encourage anyone who is visiting to take a drive through the Bison Range.
